01 · The challenge

Everything on the outside wall was open at once. Studs, batt insulation, window returns and a textured ceiling that had to come down before anything else could be closed up. A room in that state has no reference lines left, so every plane has to be re-established rather than matched to what was there.

02 · What we did

Ceiling stripped and re-finished flat, insulation corrected, walls closed and skimmed, then trim run to new lines rather than to the old openings. Flooring, casing and baseboard were sequenced so nothing had to be cut twice.

03 · The result

A finished room with square window returns, a flat ceiling and a continuous floor. The deep green reads well against the white trim because the trim is actually straight.
