Scope of work

  • Driveways and approaches
  • Walkways, steps and landings
  • Garage aprons and pads
  • Commercial flatwork
  • Forming, grading and control joints
Long new concrete driveway at sunset running between brick columns to a house

01 · The challenge

Concrete is permanent the same afternoon it arrives. Slope, joint layout and form height all have to be right before the pour, and none of them can be corrected after it. On flat coastal lots the slope is the part people get wrong, because you cannot see the problem until it rains hard.

02 · What we did

Grade and fall are set at forming, not guessed at during the pour. Control joints are laid out to the panel rather than cut wherever the saw lands, so the slab cracks where it was told to.

03 · The result

Flat, consistent pours that shed water away from the building, with joint lines that read as part of the design instead of an afterthought.
