01 · The challenge
Side yards are where water collects and nothing grows. This one ran between the house wall and a raised deck, with no room to work and nowhere obvious to send the runoff.
02 · What we did
Poured with a cross fall away from the siding and a planting bed along the wall side to take the water, with the walk finished broom-textured so it is not slick when it is wet.
03 · The result
A dry route from the side door to the deck, and a strip of yard that is now used instead of avoided.
